To ensure sustainability of any organization, it is essential to establish some income-earning ventures. From this point of view, Padakhep initiated three income-earning enterprises to make the organization self-sustained and self-financed. These enterprises are aimed to support and strengthen the socio-economic conditions of the beneficiaries through facilitating access to inputs and marketing of their products.
Seed Production and Marketing
Quality seed is considered as the basic input for increasing agricultural output and thereby achieving self-sufficiency in food production. Effectiveness of other inputs like fertilizer and irrigation depends largely on good seeds. But availability and use of improved seed in our country is still very limited. In Bangladesh, about 5% of the seeds used for crop production are produced by the government or semi-government organizations. Rest 95% requirements are met by the farmer's seeds, generally of poor quality. To address the problem, Padakhep launched the seed production and marketing program. Initially Padakhep produced only rice seeds, and from 2011-2012 onward the program it has included maize production line. The working area of the rice seed production program are: Sadar, Birol and Birgonj Upazilas of Dinajpur district. Objectives of the program are to (a) ensure quality seed production of rice through contract grower system following standard/improved methodology. (b) make quality seed available to the interested farmers through distributing seeds to the farmers including beneficiaries and market the rest by Padakhep staff at an affordable/reasonable market price (c) improve the socio-economic conditions of farmers through increased production of quality seeds and thereby increased production of crops. Padakhep produced maize in collaboration with CP Bangladesh Ltd. and A H Agro Complex. The working area of the program include: Birol and Birgonj Upazilas of Dinajpur district and Gangachara Upazila of Rangpur district.
Padakhep Institute of Development and Management (PIDM)
Considering the importance of training, Padakhep established a training institute in the name of Padakhep Institute of Development and Management (PIDM) in December 2008. PIDM is located very near the Padakhep head office at House# 679, Road# 12, Baitul Aman Housing Society, Adabar, Mohammadpur, Dhaka-1207. The institute is working relentlessly to satisfy the needs of training and development of the staff of Padakhep and partner organizations and beneficiaries. Trainers and facilitators of PIDM are highly experienced and have acquired professional skills through participation in both local and overseas training programs.
Main objective of PIDM are to assess training and development needs of staff and beneficiaries of Padakhep, staff of partner organizations and other organizations and to improve knowledge and skill of the professionals engaged in these organizations.

To meet the growing needs of the trainees, PIDM has developed its modest physical facilities for training including hostel, dormitory and training hall in a 6-storied new building. Four of training hall rooms is fully air conditioned and well equipped with training accessories like white board, soft board, laptop, multimedia and sound systems.
Dormitory is located at 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th floors of the building which provides 41 seats with accommodation for 124 participants. The PIDM has also 3 air-conditioned VIP rooms suitable for accommodating 6 guests.
Dining hall and food
A nearby spacious dining hall provides breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for the participants and is located near the dormitory at 3rd floor. The hall is open for service daily from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Padakhep Printing and Packaging
The aim of Padakhep Printing and Packaging is to publish quality printing materials for the clients at a reasonable price. Initially the enterprise publishes only the routine publications of Padakhep that include year-wise diary, calendars, newsletters, annual reports, brochures, posters, greeting cards, booklets, folders, forms, formats, registers, visiting cards, pads, etc. At present, the enterprise is working with very good reputation for different organizations namely, Aroni Advertising Limited, Kranti Associates, Prantik, Projonmo Bachao, Bangladesh Shishu Adhikar Forum, Pathway, PKSF, VARD, EXIM Bank, DSK, InM etc.
